"Whilst working with Catherine and her colleagues on a wind turbine development a clear
unrivalled understanding of lease structures and planning matters was demonstrated and
conveyed in uncomplicated and client friendly manner that was of benefit to all. I would
have no reservation in recommending Catherine for other transactional matters
particularly of this nature.

What Laura did: Laura was the acquisition agent on the site and dealt with the initial site visits and negotiations with the Land Owners and their agent Tim Scourfield at Wilby’s. Laura completed the initial feasibility assessment of the site prior to passing the matter over to the planning team. Laura also secured the grid connection for the site and continued to act as the single point of contact for the Land Owners throughout the legal process and the sale of the site to Urban Wind.

What Catherine did: Catherine drafted and executed all of the legal documents to secure the FEP’s interest in the site and also then processed the sale of this interest to Urban Wind.

Where we added value: The acquisition of the site was handled proactively by Spectrum, and when, during the sale of the FEP’s interest, documents needed signing by the Land Owners spectrum was on site at 7pm in the evening securing this signature. Spectrum's legal and acquisition team worked hand in glove with the planners at Entrust to gain planning permission and deliver the project, and then also with Urban Wind to deliver a ‘spade ready site’.

Activities: Catherine has drafted template Option and Lease documents which are used throughout the portfolio and has been responsible for the legal process and completion of all of the leased sites in the portfolio.

Where we added value: Catherine has provided a comprehensive set of documents for the client, which protects their interests in a highly competitive industry. Catherine has provided commercial advise and has also helped with planning and contract issues.

The client has also taken advantage of Spectrum’s Acquisition team, using Laura’s negotiation skills on several sites where agents had become involved including Fisher German.

The client has appreciated Catherine’s tenacious and proactive approach, and her straight talking manner and are now firm business friends – we hope to enjoy working with them on projects well into the future.
